Fiber Optic Technician

Location: Greater Seattle Area, Washington
Pay: $24.00–$29.00 per hour, based on experience

About FTC Innovation

FTC Innovation is a growing telecommunications infrastructure company delivering fiber and network construction services across Canada and the United States.

As we continue expanding our operations in Washington State, we are looking for experienced Fiber Optic Technicians to join our team in the Greater Seattle area.

The Role

We are looking for hands-on technicians with experience working on fiber optic and telecommunications projects. Candidates should be comfortable working independently and as part of a field crew while maintaining strong standards for workmanship, safety, and customer/property care.

Responsibilities may include:

• Fiber optic cable installation and placement
• Fiber splicing, termination, and testing
• OTDR and power meter testing
• Troubleshooting fiber connectivity and signal issues
• Inside wiring and pathway installation
• Installing fiber in Multi-Dwelling Units (MDUs), apartments, condos, and commercial properties
• Installing raceway, conduit, and other telecommunications pathways
• Reading construction drawings, fiber plans, and work packages
• Completing required testing and closeout documentation
• Maintaining clean and professional work areas
• Following company and customer safety requirements
• Working with field supervisors and project management to meet production schedules

What We're Looking For

Previous telecommunications or fiber optic experience is strongly preferred.

Ideal candidates will have experience with one or more of the following:

• FTTH / FTTx
• MDU fiber installations
• Fiber splicing
• OTDR testing
• Structured cabling
• Inside wiring
• Raceway and pathway installation
• Low-voltage telecommunications
• Fiber troubleshooting and repair

Candidates should also have:

• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Ability to use standard telecommunications and hand tools
• Ability to work safely and professionally in occupied properties
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to travel within the Greater Seattle area as required

Compensation

$24.00–$29.00 per hour , depending on experience and qualifications.

Benefits are available to eligible full-time employees.
