This is what we believe makes us the best place to start or build your career.Team Overview: The Edward Jones Trust Company (EJTC) works alongside a client and a client's professional advisors, such as an estate attorney or tax professional. But most importantly we work along side the financial advisor and branch team in supporting their client's legacy with precision, objectivity and genuine care. Through our trust administration, discretionary investment management, estate settlement and complex asset management services, we provide specialized expertise that reduces the burden on loved ones and helps ensure the client's intentions and values during their lifetime, and not just after death.What You Will Do:Daily management of trust accounts in accordance with the language provided in the governing instrument (trust agreements, wills, powers of attorney and all contracts relating to the account relationship), Edward Jones Trust Company guidelines, and federal and state fiduciary standards;Deep discovery for asset identification, asset gathering and analysisOnboarding new client and branch relationships; developing, strengthening, and retaining client/beneficiary and branch team relationshipsReviewing, understanding, and interpreting complex legal documents, including trust agreements, wills, powers of attorney and other contracts to limit regulatory and legal riskPartnering with financial advisors to fully understand clients' needs and deliver an excellent client experienceDiscussing and explaining complex tax and estate planning concepts and trust terms with beneficiaries and financial advisorsCoordinating with other members of the Client Team, including other Trust Company associates, branch teams, attorneys, CPAs and outside business professionals in an effort to provide the ideal client experienceResearching various laws including statutory requirements, probate rules, and court requirements and applying knowledge of these laws to unique circumstancesUnderstanding and balancing the needs of grantors, current beneficiaries, and future beneficiaries and effectively communicating this analysis to grantors, beneficiaries, and branch teamsCoordinating the management and risk mitigation of special assets and real estateServing on Governance Committees responsible for the day to day management of the Trust Company, leading and/or participating in business plan deliverables or other initiatives as requestedSupporting, training, mentoring and serving as a thought leader and resource to the team and areaDeveloping and implementing new guidelines and procedures as needed to ensure ongoing compliance with federal and state fiduciary standards*This position is known internally as a Senior Trust AdvisorWhat Experience You Need:Bachelor's degree requiredCTFA, JD, or CFP required7+ years trust and estate management, or related legal or financial services experience requiredKnowledge of advanced fiduciary, gifting, trust management principles, estate planning principles, taxes, insurance, and investment principles and techniques requiredComprehensive knowledge of regulations and applicable laws, tax planning and wealth-transfer strategiesAdvanced ability to balance high-risk compliance, legal, and business decisionsAbility to effectively train, delegate and informally lead others who provide service to the client and branch teamMust be highly skilled in written and verbal communication (especially in the explanation of complex legal matters to clients that may not have deep acumen in these complex legal matters) and demonstrate high level of interpersonal skillsCandidates that live within a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office four days per week.
