Role Overview The First Officer safely assists the Captain and crew, through the use of Crew Resource Management (CRM), in operating the aircraft in accordance with all Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and company policies and procedures. The role sits in Flight Operations and reports to the Chief Pilot. Key Responsibilities Perform preflight inspections of the aircraft and freight. Assist the crew with the necessary paperwork. Operate the aircraft with precise attention to policy, regulations and procedures. Call attention to any unsafe condition while on the ground or in flight. Perform post-flight inspections of the aircraft. Requirements Legal to work in the United States. No restrictions on international travel. Ability to pass a 10-year security background check and a pre-employment drug and alcohol test. Language: ability to read, write and understand spoken and written English and write routine reports and correspondence. Licences & Qualifications FAA Multi-Engine Airline Transport Certificate or Restricted Multi-Engine Airline Pilot Certificate. 1,500 hours total time minimum; 2,000+ hours preferred. Military applicants: fewer than 2,000 hours total time; turbine and PIC requirements are flexible. 1,500 hours turbine (jet) flight time preferred. 1,000 hours PIC turbine (jet) flight time preferred. Current FAA First Class Medical Certificate. FCC Radio Licence. Experience High school diploma or GED equivalent; post-secondary education preferred. Previous FAR 121 experience preferred but not required. Additional Information Physical Demands Ability to walk up and down stairs. Ability to work in a confined area for long periods.
