Job Description

Pay Rate: $17.50 per hour.

Work Schedule: 3 shifts are available- 4 days on 3 days off (10 hour days)

1st Shift - 6:00am-4:30pm
2nd Shift - 2:30pm-1:00am
3rd Shift - 12:00am-10:30am

 

JOB SUMMARY:

The Campus Coordinator contributes to a safe and supportive atmosphere by encouraging respect, clear communication, and personal responsibility. Through a combination of compassionate engagement and consistent oversight, they help individuals navigate their path toward stability and growth.

 

Campus Coordinators rotate through key operational assignments, including:

  • Centralized intake and access control through the Welcome Center
  • Daily shelter management and resident support
  • Day resource center operations and service coordination
  • Campus presence, guest engagement, and safety patrols
  • Security camera observation and documentation of campus activity

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Guest Services & Operations

  • Facilitate guest admissions, registrations, and intake processes while ensuring records are complete and up to date.
  • Coordinate shelter placements and monitor guest transitions throughout the campus to support smooth daily operations.
  • Prepare detailed shift summaries, activity logs, and operational reports.
  • Observe and monitor security systems, including surveillance cameras, to help maintain a safe and secure environment.
  • Initiate maintenance requests and technology support tickets as operational needs arise.
  • Maintain clear, factual, and timely documentation in accordance with organizational standards.
  • Contribute to efficient campus operations by upholding high service standards and supporting the organization's mission.
Guest Engagement & Support
  • Build positive relationships with guests by offering encouragement while reinforcing personal accountability and responsibility.
  • Communicate policies, procedures, and expectations in a respectful, consistent, and professional manner.
  • Provide spiritual encouragement and prayer support when requested by guests.
  • Connect guests with appropriate programs and services through timely referrals and coordinated transitions to program staff.
  • Help foster an environment that promotes stability, growth, and positive life change.
  • Support volunteers by providing guidance, information, and assistance during guest interactions and service activities.
  • Participate in required meetings, trainings, and organizational communications to stay informed and aligned with campus priorities.
  • Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned. Duties and responsibilities may be adjusted to meet evolving organizational and operational needs.

  • Greet guests in a welcoming, respectful, and professional manner while providing clear and effective communication.
  • Explain campus guidelines and expectations during intake and reinforce them consistently throughout each shift.
  • Maintain an active, visible presence in designated areas and remain approachable to guests, staff, and volunteers.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, composure, and integrity in all interactions.
  • Provide guidance, encouragement, and support to volunteers as they engage in campus activities and guest services.
Safety & Campus Standards
  • Promote and uphold established campus, shelter, and program policies to maintain a safe and orderly environment.
  • Identify and address potential concerns early to minimize disruptions and support campus safety.
  • Maintain appropriate professional boundaries while building positive working relationships with guests.
  • Follow established procedures for guest removals and communicate all actions promptly to supervisory staff.
  • Respond effectively to behavioral issues, de-escalate situations when appropriate, and report significant incidents in a timely manner.
  • Complete accurate incident reports and maintain required documentation according to organizational standards.
  • Conduct routine safety, security, and facility checks throughout the campus.
  • Adhere to approved safety practices and avoid physical intervention except as authorized by policy.
  • Apply trauma-informed approaches when interacting with guests and addressing behavioral concerns.
  • Exercise sound judgment, emotional awareness, and professionalism in both routine and high-pressure situations.
Operational Support
  • Contribute to the efficient day-to-day operation of the campus through proactive oversight and attention to detail.
  • Ensure assigned responsibilities are completed accurately, consistently, and in a timely manner.
  • Support operational continuity by communicating important updates, concerns, and observations to appropriate team members.
  • Assist with maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for guests, staff, volunteers, and visitors.
  • Partner with team members to ensure services are delivered effectively and in alignment with the organization's mission and values.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Campus Coordinators are expected to navigate complex situations with professionalism, composure, and consistency while supporting the overall mission and culture of the campus.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.

  • Experience working in a Christian recovery, addiction recovery, or faith-based human services environment is preferred.

  • Previous experience in shelter services, recovery programs, behavioral health, hospitality, law enforcement, crisis response, or other mission-driven care environments is highly valued.

  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred, or the ability to obtain certification within a specified timeframe.

  • Candidates who identify as being in recovery must demonstrate a minimum of two years of continuous sobriety.
